The KMQ is an ultra-compact OLED light-meter designed exclusively for analogue cameras. The size of a sugar cube, the KMQ inherits the same exceptional build quality and high accuracy as the KM02 model.

The KMQ is available in both top and back display versions, as well as black or silver finish.

    2024 Update

The latest iteration of the KMQ adds the following improvements:

    • New UI design
    • Continuous metering mode
    • Compensation mode added

    Design

The KMQ's shell is made of aluminium and weighs just 18.5g. Thanks to its ultra compact size, the KMQ is applicable to any camera with a hot/cold shoe. It's half the size of the KM02 meter.

    Battery

The built in 120mA battery is charged by a USB Type C port. This allows the KMQ to operate continuously for up to 20 hours.

    Performance

The KMQ uses a VEML7700 high accuracy ambient light 16-bit digital resolution sensor. The upgraded software ensures higher accuracy and better reliability, guaranteeing a more accurate reading. Moreover, this combined with a 50mm lens view, striking a good balance between average and selective metering.

    12 Months Warranty

The KEKS KMQ light-meter comes with a 12-months warranty from the date of purchase. In the rare event that your device is defective, Keks will repair or replace it free of charge. This ensures your peace of mind. Please note that this warranty is with the manufacturer and not given by West Yorkshire Cameras.

    😻Guarantee.

Used equipment can come in a variety of conditions, from good to bad - with years of use and history. We check and inspect all items thoroughly (no really, we do) but sometimes even the very best of us make mistkaes.

We are very pleased to offer a 30-day guarantee, for your peace of mind when buying from us. We will repair, replace or refund items found to be faulty within 30 days of delivery to you.

Items rated as Mint- Exc+ Exc or Avg condition come with three months guarantee (unless otherwise stated in the description).

Items rated as Ugly or Outlet condition do not come with a guarantee.

    💙After-sales support.

Some cameras are intuitive and easy to use. Some...well, not so much! If you are unsure about anything, just ask. We are always here to help and advise you on how to get the most out of your camera.

🙅What the guarantee does not cover:

There are a few specific circumstances and aspects that we won't cover under guarantee. These include very old light meters, anything subjective such as weight or feel, and sensitive components. For the full lowdown on this, take a look at our terms and conditions - linked below.

Accidental Damage and Improper Use. It is important to note that a small minority of cameras have their quirks and particular processes which must be followed. Sometimes, unfortunately, a camera just gets dropped. We are unable to accept returns for damage caused by improper use or accidental damage.

    🫖All the tea:

For full information on what our guarantee covers, see our Terms and Conditions page.

All used equipment we sell is comprehensively inspected and tested by us. We grade our items as follows:

    Mint Minus.

As close to new as a used item can be. It will have absolutely minimal signs of use. Of course, fully functional in all respects. We tend to use this rating sparingly.

    Excellent Plus.

Very good condition, it will have seen light use and there will be some very minor cosmetic imperfections. Of course, everything is fully functional in all respects unless otherwise stated in the description.

    Excellent.

Used condition but good overall - what you might expect from a second hand item. Some signs of use but fully working unless otherwise stated. Our standard condition rating.

    Average.

Relatively poor condition overall but still fully working. Will have obvious signs of use and/or minor issues - for example optics may have small defects, a built-in light meter may not work, there may be cosmetic imperfections - and so on - but nothing too detrimental to its functionality and the item will be mostly usable in it’s original capacity.

    Ugly.

Heavily used, beaten up, or whatever you want to call it. The item will function (just) - but will have one or more obvious defects. For example: the slow shutter speeds may not be working, there may be a ding to a filter rim, deep scratches or fungus to optics, significant signs of use and wear.
'Ugly' rated items do not come with any warranty period.

    Outlet.

For spares or repair only. For those budding repairers, parts collectors, risk takers, or those who just like faffing. To avoid confusion, these items do not appear on our main catalogue, but are on a separate Outlet section. They are utterly broken and are sold as-seen.

    Additional information about Condition.

Please note that for any condition rating, we do not guarantee selenium-cell light meters - both those which are built into cameras and hand-held. Due to age, these types of meter have often decayed to inaccurate or inoperative levels.

All used lenses will have some specks of dust in the optics no matter what the condition rating.

When can I expect my order?

You can choose at checkout what speed of delivery suits you best:

🐈💨 Fast Postage (Free for UK orders of £150 or more)

Fast Postage means your items will be with you within a couple of days. It's usually next-day delivery from when it leaves our shop. We endeavour to dispatch Fast Postage items as quickly as we can - within 48 hours of receiving the order (but not including weekends or bank holidays).

🦥💤 Slow Postage (Free for UK orders of £50 or more)

Slow Postage is cheaper, but allow up to a week for delivery. We take items to the local Post Office every few days and use a tracked second-class service. Useful for smaller items, or if you want to keep costs down.

Slow Postage may not be available for large or expensive items.

    On a deadline? Tell us!

We are a small team running a busy shop, and as such we can't always post items out immediately - if you need an item for the next day, or have any particular delivery requirements, we are happy to try and accommodate this if you discuss it with us prior to ordering. Once the item has been dispatched, we cannot be held responsible for any service delays from the courier that is used. We always post items with delivery confirmation and full insurance up the order value.

    Returns

For full information on returns policy, see our Returns page.

We use stock photos for some items.

As you may imagine - we get through plenty of stuff! It's not always possible to take photos of each item individually, especially if it's an item we see a lot.

For unusual or high-end items, or items with modifications or damage, we'll almost-always display photos of the exact item which is for sale.

We understand that specific versions of items or serial numbers can be important. If you have any concerns or requirements then feel free to get in touch and ask us for more details so we can make sure that you're getting exactly what you want.

The condition rating and photos are representative of the item you will receive. We usually specify if we've used stock photos. If you're not sure, just ask!
