Too often we hear horror stories about sellers on online auction sites, at camera fairs – or even some of the less reputable camera dealers – selling faulty or wrongfully described items and the customers end up losing out through no fault of their own. I myself have personally been on the receiving end of this situation before on several occasions, so I know it’s not a pleasant experience – and part of the reason I started the shop was to put an end to it.

On occasion, second hand items might have hidden faults or intermittent problems. It’s this type of issue that the more unscrupulous people out there could take advantage of – but not us. We give a full three months guarantee from the receipt of the item for you to fully test and check all functions. If you do find yourself dissatisfied within this period, just let us know and you can return it for a full refund, replacement, or if we can offer it, a repair. Better still, if it's inside the 14 day Distance Selling Regulations timeframe, we’ll even cover your return postage. That’s the gist of it, but you should give the full terms and conditions a quick read.

In the unlikely event that you do wish to return an item to us, please contact us by email or phone as soon as you can, and we can discuss any problems and we will do our best to find a solution as quickly and effectively as possible.

Returning Used Equipment

If you do decide to return an item to us, please let us know by email or include details of your order in the package to speed up the refund process.

We reserve the right to refuse a refund for any items returned misused, damaged, incomplete, or otherwise returned in a different condition to the original sale. Any and all accessories included with the purchase must also be returned.

We will refund (at our discretion) part of or all the return costs incurred if it is incorrectly supplied or found to be faulty within 14 days of receipt. We will cover up to the cost of the original postage charge for the item when the order was placed. We unfortunately cannot offer refunds on postage on orders outside of the EU.

Unless expressly stated or otherwise agreed prior to purchase, buyers must cover all return costs on order cancellations for any reason apart from those stated above. As we sell used equipment, it is also at our discretion to accept a return for items which have no faults or no other similar issues, such as if the buyer changes their mind about a purchase. If we do accept a return for an item with no faults or other disagreements (which we have never refused to do) we charge a 5% restocking fee.

Returning New Equipment

We allow the buyer the right to cancel any new equipment orders within 10 days of purchase. If you have received the item and have used it in any capacity, then we cannot accept a return on new equipment, and can only offer to buy the equipment back or part-exchange it at our standard buying in rates. This includes equipment that has been removed from or stripped of its original packaging regardless of whether it has been used or not.

West Yorkshire Cameras will refund postal/delivery charges if the item/s received is incorrectly supplied or found to be faulty on receipt. Unless expressly stated or otherwise agreed prior to purchase, buyers must cover all return costs on order cancellations or refunds.

Returns from Outside of the EU

We accept returns from outside of the EU, however you must mark the parcel as a return, otherwise we will be charged import taxes that we will have to deduct from the refund amount.
