Closing FAQs
A lot of different factors have meant that this is the right time for us to say goodbye. You can read more in our blog post.
The last day our shop will be open to the public is Sunday 17th November.
No. We'll be selling off all our stock over the next couple of months. We're having a goodbye sale with discounts on all stock.
We'll be operating as usual online until February 2025 (TBC). Please check our social media for any updates.
You will still be able to email and call during normal shop hours with enquiries. Please bear in mind we may be slower than usual to reply.
The sale starts November 24th and the discount increases every week. You can find out more here.
Yes. All warranty periods will be honoured if required.
- Orders placed before September 30th have three months guarantee.
- Orders placed before November 23rd have one months guarantee.
- Items bought in the sale (24th November) onwards will have 14 days guarantee as per the distance selling regulations.
We'll put together a list of reputable camera shops and sources for film and analogue resources so that you can find everything you need without us 😢
Buying From Us
Yes - if you can see an item advertised on our website, it’s available for purchase. Everything visible on the website is in stock and for sale. Our inventory is live, so if you can see it, we have it. If you can’t see it, it’s gone
Similar to the above question, everything we have available is listed on our website. If you can see it, we’ve got it, if it’s not there, we don’t have one!
No - we used to operate a list of customers looking for specific items but it quickly became confusing or outdated. If we find an effective and efficient way to reintroduce this, we will. Our best advice at the moment is to keep an eye on our website for anything you’re looking for.
Please assume it is not. We use our own stock photos from examples of items that have come to us previously. We ensure that the photo represents the condition of the one we have to hand. Check the condition rating of the item for an assessment. There may be minor differences between the item shown and the one we have in stock. We’re more than happy to provide serial numbers or other specifics on request.
This is our condition rating. You can find an explanation of all the condition ratings on the product page below the description and price.
The changes in our inventory happen automatically and almost immediately. Most of the time, an item will disappear from our website once purchased. If an item remains on our website after it has been purchased, more than likely it means that we had more than one in stock.
We are happy to reserve items for 7 days free of charge. After this period and regardless of whether you have been in contact with us or not, it will return to general sale.
No. We do not take deposits on items, or have any instalment terms.
No, we prefer to sell all items as they are listed and will not split lenses / accessories / prisms / magazines etc. from items.
What we do
Yes! We're an exclusively analogue camera shop - we don't buy or sell digital equipment at all. Some more modern 35mm cameras, such as Canon EOS series do take modern, full frame lenses - the line we draw is that if it won't work on a 35mm camera then we won't stock it, and in general the older and more unusual, the better!
Yes! All our equipment is used / second-hand. We do not stock any brand new equipment whatsoever. Head over to our Sell To Us page and fill in the form for a quote if you wish to part-exchange or sell anything to us.
Absolutely yes, we're always interested in purchasing equipment. Head over to our Sell To Us page for a quote.
All our stock is procured from customers approaching us, then checked and inspected before buying. We never source anything from eBay or auctions.
We sell individual films in the shop, but we tend not to sell it through our website. We're not set up for high parcel volume and lower shipping cost items and our film prices would also be less competitive as we don't buy in the same quantities as dedicated film retailers. If you can, you're welcome to come into the shop and pick a couple of rolls up, but for those further afield or looking to purchase large quantities we thoroughly recommend Analogue Wonderland for all your film needs!
Sadly we do not offer in-store developing or scanning services, but for all your processing needs in Leeds city centre, we can happily recommend Dragon Photo, CC Imaging, or Take It Easy Lab.
No we don't offer any in-house repairs, but check out Pierro at PPP Repairs for all your servicing needs. Alternatively try ApertureUK in London, or Dale Photographic in Leeds.
Yes, we can do that and advise on you on it's condition / repair / return scenarios. We are happy for you to forward our opinion on an item to the previous owner or seller if you have a dispute with it.
We are happy to cosmetically clean any camera / lens that comes into our shop for you free of charge, to make sure it's as bright and shiny as it can be!
We do not offer sensor cleaning, and we do not offer cleaning of internal / optical / mechanical aspects of equipment.
That's a strict no unfortunately!
We are now an entirely cashless business. We do not accept or give cash. Methods of in-store payment are debit / credit card (Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express), contactless, or part-exchange. Methods of payment through the website are Debit/credit card, Apple pay, Google Pay, Shop pay, and several Cryptocurrencies via Coinbase. We can also arrange Bank Transfer if required.
Where we are
Our shop is in Leeds - more specifically we are situated in the Grand Arcade, which is just off New Briggate, adjecent to the Grand Theatre. The other end of the arcade comes out at Vicar Lane, opposite the Templar Hotel. We have a map and opening times on our Visit page
We're in the centre of Leeds, so visiting is quite easy. We are near several bus stops, or a 10-15 minute walk from the train station.
If you are parking nearby, we recommend Trafalgar Street car park (LS2 7BF) which is cheaper for staying in town all day - or for a short visit to us, park at Templar Street (LS2 7LP) car park.
There's also a loading bay at the bottom end of the arcade on Vicar Lane if you need to unload anything to bring to us.
Selling to Us
We are exclusively analogue, so we're interested in any good quality analogue photographic equipment, including 35mm, medium format, large format - whether it be modern or old fashioned, we'll consider it!
Head on over to our Sell to Us page, and fill in the form!
We do not buy or sell digital equipment.
We'll give you a rough estimate for your items without seeing them, based on your description of the condition and what you have.
If you're able to call in - then we can make an appointment for you to call in. If you're further away then you can send the equipment to us, or if you have a particularly large collection then we can arrange to visit at your location.
There is no obligation to sell whatsoever. Once we have assessed all the equipment, we'll make you a final offer. If you don't want to accept our final offer or if there are items we have rejected, you can have equipment returned at no cost to you.
Payment is always made by bank transfer. We do not use cheque, PayPal or any other method of payment. Bank transfers within the UK are almost immediate and do not incur any fees. For this, we will need your account number, sort code and name on the account.
Yes, of course we can take items in part-exchange against something we have in stock.
No, we simply buy and sell. Head over to our Sell To Us page and fill in the form for a quote.

Still need help?
If you promise you've actually read the above FAQ and still can't find the answer, just give us a call or drop us an email. One of the finest camera nerds will assist you as soon as possible. We can answer most of your questions, but try to keep them photography-related. We might not know the airspeed velocity of an unladen Swallow, for example.
