Our physical shop is now closed.
Unfortunately, we are winding down West Yorkshire Cameras. As such, we have closed our shop in the Grand Arcade.
We are operating as usual for any purchases you wish to make through the website.
Whilst we're on the subject, check out our Goodbye Sale, where you might be able to snag a proper bargain...
Say hello anytime – we’re in Leeds Grand Arcade
Right in the middle of Leeds city centre. Whether you're coming by car, train, bus or penny farthing, we're easy to find.
Of the many arcades in Leeds, the Grand Arcade is one of the oldest. It features a glass roof, arched windows, open beams and hanging lamps. It's also home to an animated clock, installed by Potts of Leeds in 1899, which still chimes on the hour.
Our History
West Yorkshire Cameras began in 2012 with two friends that shared a passion for cameras and photography. A basic website, an occasional market stall provided by the University of Huddersfield - and a lot of hard work - eventually turned into a business that could support a premises.
We took the big step and moved to Leeds where a permanent - but very small - shop was set up. Here we started to build a solid foundation in the film photography community.
A couple of years and a move to a larger unit later, Howard took over the shop on his own and gradually assembled a small team of dedicated full-time camera nerds.
Where we are now
In 2019 West Yorkshire Cameras settled into our current and largest shop at Leeds Grand Arcade and continues to expand and grow to serve many happy photographers.
As we continue to expand and offer more stock, services and expertise, our aim is simple. To be the best camera shop.
