West Yorkshire Cameras Staff Interviews: Steve Boylin

'The ‘click, click, click’ of shooting digital meant I couldn’t slow down and focus. When I discovered film, I enjoyed the process of stepping back and slowing down.'

Historic Photos from the Field Museum Library, Chicago

The Field Museum Chicago recently uploaded a huge archive of photographs to their Flickr page for the world to see – as soon as I found out I trawled through all the photos there, some are absolutely stunning.

Dating back as early as 1893, and even including lots of shots of when they moved the museum in 1920, zoology expeditions to Panama, Africa, landscapes of the mid west – it’s quite a comprehensive archive of photos.

I’ve gathered up some of my favourite shots below, although if you’d like to see them all visit the Field Museum Library Flickr page.
