West Yorkshire Cameras Staff Interviews: Steve Boylin

'The ‘click, click, click’ of shooting digital meant I couldn’t slow down and focus. When I discovered film, I enjoyed the process of stepping back and slowing down.'

Continuing our series of staff interviews is none other than our resident scouser, Steve. In this interview, Steve explains to us how he got into film photography, his developing process and how you can still take great photos on a battered old Rolleicord.

Delivery Improvements

Those of you that have most recently placed an order may have noticed that whilst we were slaving away doing our recent stock take, something has changed - namely, we are no longer using Royal Mail as our postal service of choice. We now use DPD Local. This will bring:

  • Reduced cost for most services.
  • Priority 1-2 day delivery as standard for UK customers.
  • Saturday and Sunday services available at an extra cost.
  • Immediate tracking information.
  • Collections for returns and customers selling items to us.

This was a little overdue, as since our 'new' website (well, it's actually over a full year old now!) has matured we found that the Post Office service that we used is suited to a business which sends a smaller volume of parcels. This meant that you previously had to manually ask us for tracking information, we had to manually find it, and manually send you a link - all of which took time for ourselves and you, and was less than convenient for all involved. Now, everything comes through straight away. Once your order has been collected by DPD, you will get updates by text or email every step of the way, and a particular delivery time slot will be provided which you can even request to change.

Bear with us whilst we set all this up and iron out the bugs - and it will become yet another reason to tempt you with all our super stock (sorry).

This is part of a roadmap of improvements we hope to make over the next 12 months so keep an eye on our progress!

PS: Don't worry, the Haribo isn't going anywhere any time soon!
