Found at a Cash Converters in Hackney. Recovered from Ilford Police station on 12/11/2024. This is now back with us and is legitimately for sale.
Please be on the lookout for these cameras. We suspect they are in the London area but could be anywhere by now.
The XPAN II was delivered to an address in Hackney. The XPAN was delivered to an address in Romford. We believe they are being offered for sale in those areas.
Please do not part with your hard-earned money for these cameras. If they are offered to you, or you know where they are then please inform us by email or DM so we have a chance to get them back.
A cautionary tale for other camera shops, or anyone in retail. Three different individuals called us to place the three orders over the space of a couple of weeks. They talked in detail about the cameras, as any normal customer would. They paid using - unbeknownst to us- stolen card details. The card details matched the delivery addresses. There was no reason to believe the orders were fraudulent. We now have a system in place to prevent this happening again.
A chargeback from the card company can only be initiated by the real cardholder after two weeks, so we had no idea until it was far too late. Frustratingly, chargebacks are heavily weighted against the merchant so we can provide evidence of delivery, but realistically we have no chance of contesting it. Our only viable option is to find and recover the cameras. It’s not going to kill us, but it really hurts.
Thank you for reading and any assistance you can give.
